British Garden Centres are preparing a Planning Application for a transformational programme of new extensions to Woodborough Green Garden Centre.
Our proposals would include the extension of existing garden centre buildings, as well as the demolition of some outbuildings on site. The extensions will allow us to transform our existing retail spaces, improving the long-term viability of the garden centre and delivering a better customer experience for the local community.
The proposals would also deliver new and improved toilet facilities, as well as an overhaul of our current café and restaurant. Our new café building will feature an upgraded kitchen and dining area, allowing customers to enjoy our food and refreshment options in comfort and style.
We recognise the importance of engaging and collaborating with local stakeholders and the wider community throughout the planning process. As such, we will be holding a drop-in session at the centre to gather feedback from local residents and customers. A notification letter will also be distributed to neighbouring properties to inform them of the plans.

Gardener’s Retreat restaurant and café
After listening to customer feedback, we have decided to transform the culinary experience on offer at Woodborough Green Garden Centre.
We're planning some wonderful improvements to our restaurant facilities. From upgraded interiors to enhanced dining areas, we're committed to making our customers' visits even more enjoyable.
Our plans will involve shifting the store layout by creating a new dining area and kitchen for the Gardener's Retreat restaurant. We'll be building a brand-new dining area and kitchen with an improved layout that enhances both accessibility and comfort for all our guests. You'll still enjoy the same delicious food and drink, but in a thoughtfully upgraded space. The plans include enhanced toilet facilities and a covered walkway linking the restaurant to the garden centre, so you can move between areas whatever the weather.

We will be hosting a public drop in event at Woodborough Green Garden Centre to answer questions from the local community and introduce the plans to our customers. Members of the project team will be on hand to discuss the masterplan and talk through the opportunities at the site.
