Brownfield Site in Staple Hill
The proposed brownfield site is owned by South Gloucestershire Council, and has been vacant since the Infants School demolition.
There are several bus stops situated along Victoria Street and the B4465 High Street making the site an accessible location with close transport links. The proposed site is surrounded by shops and everyday services in Staple Hill which will benefit from the increased footfall the proposed development will bring and ensure that prospective residents of the proposed development will be able to undertake most journeys by sustainable means.
Our proposals seek to redevelop the site with retirement living apartments which will provide a beneficial use, meeting the local need for older living accommodation.
The surrounding area to the south is residential in nature and therefore specialist retirement living homes in this location are considered an appropriate redevelopment of the site. This long term vacant site presently makes a negative contribution to the character and appearance of the area and its redevelopment would contribute positively to the character and appearance of the area.
