David Lloyd Leisure has considered a range of new locations across Bedfordshire and has recently agreed terms for the former Oasis Beach Pool, Cardington Road, Bedford MK42 0BZ, as an ideal location for a premium health and wellness centre.

The Oasis Beach Pool was closed in 2025. It is now understood that the Council no longer proposes to re-open the pool.

This club will enhance local economic growth by providing a new exciting leisure destination that promotes physical and mental well-being. The development will create 80-100 new full time equivalent jobs supported by David Lloyd’s training and mentoring initiatives.

Furthermore, the development will have a minimal environmental footprint, adhering to our commitment to achieving Carbon Net Zero.
