Frequently Asked Questions
1) What are the proposals for Sainsbury’s Auchterarder
Sainsbury’s is proposing to bring its unbeatable combination of quality fresh food, great value, innovative products and brilliant colleague service to a new store in Auchterarder.
The proposals include a new Sainsbury’s Local store, featuring a selection of high quality, convenience products. The proposed convenience store will be in a convenient location to meet top-up shopping needs for the growing number of residents within the eastern edge of Auchterarder.
An in-store Click & Collect service is also proposed, to bring together the much-loved brands of Sainsbury’s, Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing under one roof.
The new store will provide much needed additional choice for the town, which currently has only a limited convenience food offering. In doing so, the proposal will reduce the extent to which residents have to travel out of the town for every-day top-up shopping.
2) How big will the store be?
The proposed Sainsbury’s Local will be 448sqm and is designed to serve the surrounding local community.
3) Where is the site?
The store would be situated at the Rosemount Depot, The Feus, Auchterarder, on the underused brownfield site. The site would be accessed via a singular entrance from The Feus.
4) How many parking spaces will be made available?
The store’s car park would provide 28 parking spaces, including ultra-rapid EV charging bays, as well as disabled and parent & child spaces close to the store entrance. It is also proposed to include 8 bike spaces. Based upon data for similar sized stores, this level of parking will ensure there would be no parking overspill into the surrounding area.
5) Will there be Argos, Tu Clothing and Habitat included in store?
An in-store Click & Collect service would help to bring together the much-loved brands of Sainsbury’s, Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing under one roof, enabling customers to collect their Argos purchases whilst picking up their groceries.
6) How many jobs will be created?
Approximately 20 new full and part time job opportunities will be created in store, across a range of roles and levels. Sainsbury’s commit to employing locally and retaining employment expenditure in the local area.

- 100% renewable electricity and no natural gas;

- All natural refrigerants (Carbon Dioxide, CO2);
