WELCOME
Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our proposals for a new commercial development at the well-established South Lancashire Industrial Estate, Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Ashton Park is land allocated for employment use in the Wigan Development Plan.
We want to hear from residents in Ashton-in-Makerfield and the broader community as we develop our plans further.
Ashton Park will deliver a new high quality industrial scheme that meets industry demands and brings benefits, such as providing and supporting around 1,150 construction and operational jobs and an extra £46.2mn a year to the Ashton-in-Makerfield area.
Our consultation is now open, and we would welcome your views and feedback, which you can share on the ‘Have your say’ page.
ABOUT US
Growing from our northern roots 43 years ago, Caddick Developments is a trusted delivery partner and one of the largest, privately owned, multi-sector property developers – creating high-quality places and spaces across the UK.
Caddick Developments is part of the wider Caddick Group, which includes Moda Living, Oakgate Group, Caddick Construction, Caddick Civil Engineering, Caddick Land, and Leeds Rhinos.
We take pride in being a family business, as well as a proven and responsible developer, and are committed to being a good neighbour with constructive dialogue with the local community throughout the planning and construction processes.
We have previously worked with Wigan Council on schemes such as the Sandalwood Drive Care Home and the Railway Arches residential scheme in Leigh.
Through these schemes, we have given back to the local community through apprenticeships, work placements and supporting local charities such as ‘The Brick’ food pantry and Wigan Support Services. We have also previously supported Wigan Job Centre to provide opportunities to the long-term unemployed.
We are also Gold Patrons of the Wigan Youth Zone, having supported the regional charity since becoming Silver Patrons back in 2021 and pledge to donate £10,000 a year to the charity.
“The team have a friendly, “can do” approach and have dealt with difficult site conditions and the problems of Covid in a very pro-active manner, working hard to mitigate any delays to the program” – Wigan Council Officer when talking about Caddick’s previous schemes.
