Station Road, Hungerford
The proposed site is private land that is infrequently used as overflow parking adjacent to Hungerford Train Station located on Station Road.
It is a brownfield site that has recent planning history for residential development at a scale larger than Churchill is proposing. In March 2019 planning permission was granted for 30 residential apartments and a coffee shop on the site.
Churchill Retirement Living are bringing forward proposals for the positive redevelopment of the site for retirement living meeting the local need for older living accommodation.
The proposed site is close to shops and everyday services in Hungerford which will benefit from the increased footfall the proposed development will generate and ensure that prospective residents of the proposed development will be able to undertake most journeys by sustainable means, on foot and by mobility scooter. Hungerford Common located on Port Down Park Street provides green space within a 7 minute walk from the proposed development, residents may also enjoy walks along the canal, which would benefit the development residents in terms of mental and physical health. Hungerford Train Station is also adjacent to the site making the site an easily accessible location for trips further afield.
