Welcome
This consultation is presented on behalf of Churchill Retirement Living and invites you to provide feedback on our initial proposals for a new high-quality retirement community in Street village centre, on land comprising the rear part of the Crispin Precinct shopping centre and part of the adjoining car park.
Much of the Crispin Centre has been vacant for some time and the few tenants that remain will be vacating their units in due course.
The five retail units that front the High Street at 85 to 95 (odd numbers only) do not form part of the site and the rear yard servicing these units is proposed to be maintained as existing.
The pedestrian link to the Southside car park will be also maintained as part of the proposed development.
Churchill Retirement Living’s vision for the site is for a mixture of new apartments and cottages designed specifically for local over 65s who want to carry on living independently with the safety, support and social life that comes with living in a retirement living community.
New retirement living homes in the town centre will create a considerable uplift in footfall and spending in local shops and support jobs on the high street. Research shows that a new retirement living community will generate extra spending in the region of £420,000 per year in the local high street.
This website provides a wide range of information regarding the site, our plans, our company as well about other Churchill retirement communities. You can review this information using the tabs on the website and by looking at our virtual exhibition.
