David Lloyd Leisure have now submitted a planning application to Stafford Borough Council for their exciting proposals for a new club in Stafford. The planning application has been registered under reference number 26/41955/FUL.
The local community has the opportunity to demonstrate support for the application. Doing so may improve the application’s chance of being granted planning permission, helping the plans become a reality.
Anyone with an interest in the proposals is able to share their views with Stafford Borough Council, so it could also be beneficial to let your friends and family know.
Provide comment by email
The easiest way to submit your comments is to directly email to planning@staffordbc.gov.uk. You must make sure that the email references:
- the application number - 26/41955/FUL; and,
- your full address.
In your email, you may wish to mention the potential social, economic and environmental benefits associated with the David Lloyd Leisure planning application, if these are relevant to your views. Examples include:
- The opportunity to provide additional health and leisure facilities for the local area, expanding the Borough’s sporting offer.
- The introduction of new swimming pools, sports halls, tennis courts and padel facilities, helping to meet identified local needs.
- Potential support for the local economy, including approximately 80–100 permanent jobs, 35 supply chain roles and around 50 construction jobs.
- An estimated £2.5–£3 million in annual economic contribution.
- A building designed to reduce carbon emissions and target BREEAM ‘Very Good’ sustainability standards.
- A high‑quality development that reflects local design principles.
Comment on the planning portal directly
Alternatively, you can also provide comments directly on the planning portal by going to Stafford Borough Council planning search tool.
- Enter the planning reference number - 26/41955/FUL into the keywords section to find the application.
- Once you have located the application you can click make a comment.
- Once on the comment form you can click “see contributor letter” and then make your comment within the final box.
