Site Overview

The new Edith Rigby Way (Preston Western Distributor Road) connects the M55 to the A583, allowing traffic to flow around Preston more fluidly via the new M55 Junction 2. Moto has identified this location as the ideal site for a new highly sustainable rest area.

The site is strategically located between Preston (c.3 miles to the southeast) and Blackpool (c.12 miles to the west), within the Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council boundaries.

The site will serve both eastbound and westbound traffic at this key location on the M55, as well as those travelling via Edith Rigby Way.

The site is located northwest of the city of Preston and due north of the M55/Preston Northern Bypass. The small settlement of Swillbrook sits to the west, consisting of a handful of houses and a small business park.

The site is immediately surrounded by agricultural land, primarily used for grazing.
