Sainsbury's announces opening date for new Bromsgrove store - September 2026
Sainsbury’s is pleased to share the exciting news that its brand-new supermarket at Brook Retail Park in Bromsgrove will open on Thursday 1st October. The announcement means the retailer’s multimillion-pound investment to regenerate the former Homebase store is nearly ready, creating around 100 jobs in the process and providing a brilliant new place for local people to shop. Sainsbury’s is now in the third year of its ambitious plan to bring more of its food range to more customers in more locations.
As part of this, the retailer continues to open many more new Sainsbury’s supermarkets in towns like Bromsgrove that do not currently have one, putting its winning combination of value, quality, availability and service within easier reach of more people throughout the UK. The new supermarket will build on the success of the retailer’s existing Bromsgrove Local store on Stourbridge Road and Argos store on High Street.
Sainsbury’s proposals followed extensive consultation with the community in and around Bromsgrove, including an online consultation hub and discussions with councillors and key local stakeholders. More than 800 members of the public engaged with the consultation process, with over 80% of respondents expressing their support for the new store.
