The proposed site is situated on Lower Fore Street and is currently a Jewsons builders’ merchant set adjacent to a small trading estate and within an area characterised predominantly by residential properties.
Jewsons have taken the decision to consolidate their retail provision in Exmouth at the Withycombe Village Road store and Churchill Retirement Living’s vision is to provide a retirement living development that meets our customer’s needs and the local need for retirement apartments.
The proposed redevelopment of the site for a retirement living community will greatly improve the attractiveness of the site and wider area and provide development a more in-keeping with the site’s residential surroundings.
The site is located in an accessible location adjacent to public transport links, Exmouth Train Station is a 7 minute walk from the proposed site as well as several nearby bus stops. There are additional shops, cafes, chemists and a post office located along Chapel Street, a 2 minute walk from the site and several independent stores all within a 5 minute walk. This will enable residents to make sustainable journeys on foot to everyday facilities.
