Churchill held a public consultation in October 2022 which generated lots of helpful feedback. This feedback has been collated and reviewed to help evolve the proposals, ensuring they positively respond to the key themes raised throughout the consultation.
This follow-up consultation is presented on behalf of Churchill Retirement Living and invites you to view and provide feedback on our revised proposals for the re-development of the former Gas Works Site, Bridge Street, Christchurch.
Churchill Retirement Living’s vision for the site is for a mix of new homes, comprising retirement living, open- market and affordable homes that provide a multi-generational community and meet the housing needs in Christchurch. The development will contribute positively to the character and appearance of Christchurch through the attractive remediation and re-development of this long-term vacant town centre site.
The proposed development will make a significant contribution locally, in terms of social, economic and environmental benefits. The site is around 500m from the town centre, enabling residents to walk to local shops and facilities and contribute to the vitality and viability of the town centre.
