The Site
We seek to provide care homes in locations where there is a real need and where they will deliver the greatest benefit for local people.
We have undertaken substantial research and found that there will be a need to increase care home capacity in the local area by at least 200 beds, but possibly up to 500 beds, by 2023. Although our plans would make an important contribution to this, our 65-bed care home would actually only fill a proportion of the unmet need locally.
We are aware of previous proposals to develop a substantial area of land situated to the west of our site at Pale Lane Farm. We would like to reassure you that our plans are of a small scale, on a different site, and we have absolutely no affiliation with the promoters of the previous proposals.
Plan showing site location with red marker
The proposed site is located to the North West of Fleet, accessed from Fleet Road A323, and occupies an area of 1.17ha/2.90 acres. It currently accommodates 2 and 3 storey commercial and residential buildings, as well as caravans and hardstanding.
The site is enclosed by a dense tree line forming a boundary around the site and screened from the railway line to the south. The site is currently accessed via the A323 at the northern boundary.
The Local Area
The site is located in a predominantly residential setting across the A323 Fleet Road and outside of the conservation area. The site is in close proximity to The Key Pub, Morrisons supermarket, Elvetham Heath Parish Council and Fleet Community Hospital.
