What's Proposed?
The proposed development is for a 65-bed care home over 3 storeys, providing a safe and secure home for people in the local area who are elderly, infirm or suffering from dementia. There would be an onsite nurse available 24 hours a day, every day, as well as visiting GPs.
The care home, which would provide approximately 70 new jobs for local people, has been designed to be light and bright, with easy access to amenities including dining areas, lounges, a bistro, cinema and hairdressing facilities.
The site will be accessed via the existing access road off the A323 Fleet Road. A total of 28 car parking spaces are proposed on the site and of these 3 spaces will be accessible.

Access and parking
The care home would be accessed via the existing access road off the A323. The number of car parking spaces required has been assessed based on local and national planning policy, as well as data from our other care homes.
In total, 28 car parking spaces (including 3 accessible spaces) would be provided, as well as a separate parking space reserved for servicing of the development. Given shift patterns of staff members and the number of visitors expected, this level of parking will be appropriate to comfortably accommodate all necessary vehicles.
