Proposals for Nantwich

Public Engagement

Early Community Engagement

Following an initial pre-app meeting with Cheshire East Officers, David Lloyd were keen to establish whether there was local interest in David Lloyd investing in the local area, we opted to run a social media advert where residents could register their interest in the scheme.

Details of the campaign

The advert targeted the three villages and towns surrounding the site, Nantwich, Shavington and Willaston on the social media platform Facebook. It was run for 3 weeks, and its purpose was to establish what level of interest there was locally for David Lloyd to invest in the area and did not disclose the location.

To date we have:

  • Received 301 registrations of interest by residents

  • Had 1,064 link clicks on the advert

  • Reached 11,575 individual accounts on Facebook during the advert's lifetime.

The summary on the next page provides some insight into what residents had to say about David Lloyd Leisure investing in the area and displays where the registrations of interests have come from in relation to the site.

We will be consulting extensively with local people by hosting a drop-in event in Crewe Vagrants Sports Club. A large scale mailing will be distributed and a dedicated project website will be launched providing details for local residents to contact the development team directly by phone/email.
