The site is strategically positioned to the southeast of Junction 16 of the M4, making it easily accessible to existing traffic travelling both directions on the motorway.

Junction 16 is an ideal site for a highly sustainable new rest area, midway between Bristol (c.30 miles to the west) and Reading (c.40 miles to the east).

In terms of neighbouring settlements, the site is situated approximately 3 miles southwest of Swindon's town centre and is separated from Blagrove Business Park by the M4.

To the west of the site lies the easternmost point of Royal Wootton Bassett, located about 1 mile away, with the town centre situated over 2 miles from the site.

Towards the southeast of the site, there is an established travellers' site.
