Homestead View
A sustainable new community in South West Rugby.
A sustainable new community in South West Rugby.
Our proposals have been designed to be energy efficient and future-proof, to meet the new future sustainability regulations and be zero carbon ready. This means using low-carbon technologies, improved building fabrics that reduce heating and energy demand, EV Chargers and Solar Panels. Our homes will also be designed to understand the character and personality of the local area.
We are committed to building high-quality and high-efficiency homes, where our residents can live well, feel part of a community, and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Taylor Wimpey was the first UK homebuilder to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and is testing a wide range of new technologies to help provide insight into how we can address major industry challenges to transition into high quality, low carbon homes.
Homestead View will be a sustainable, connected community where residents take pride in their environment, offering excellent links to Rugby and the broader neighbourhood. All homes will be within walking distance of bus stops and local amenities, with a Mobility Hub at the Local Centre providing additional parking and EV charging. A new bus service will connect residents to key areas, and roads will be designed to accommodate regular bus movements and naturally slow traffic.
Pedestrian and cycle routes will be prioritised, with safe crossings, existing bridleways and rights of way will be retained and enhanced to provide a shared space for all users (including equestrians) where possible.
Nature will be at the heart of the development. A network of green footpaths and cycleways will connect the neighbourhood to public open spaces and play areas, providing residents with spaces to relax and play.
The site will benefit from the introduction of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) designed into the landscape, pocket parks located within residential areas, wildflower meadows, and the enhancement of existing hedgerows and trees. These measures will encourage wildlife and create new habitats, improving local biodiversity and the environment.
