Sustainability
Redrow and Bellway have a commitment to create a long term sustainable community, and are therefore bringing forward a series of measures in order to promote sustainable living in Sharnbrook.
These include, but are not limited to:
- A network of pedestrian and cycle paths throughout the site, and to the existing network, improving links between the new school and community hub and Sharnbrook village centre;
- Public Bus service provision re-routed to within the development;
- Use of sustainable building techniques and materials;
- Sustainable drainage systems throughout the site;
- A net gain in on-site bio-diversity; and
- Incorporation of 3Ha of existing and new woodland.
More information about our energy and sustainability strategy for Hill Farm, Sharnbrook, can be found on the planning portal for this application. Details of how to view this can be found on our Next Steps page.
Redrow are also in the process of implementing a ‘Nature for People’ strategy in partnership with The Wildlife Trust, which works towards protecting and enhancing biodiversity on our developments.
